How author earnings work on Konkon

Konkon uses a coin system. Readers buy coin packs, unlock your premium chapters with those coins, and you receive 80% of the net revenue after payment processing fees (like PayPal).

This page shows example numbers so you can see how coins translate into real earnings. These are sample calculations, not a binding contract, but the 80% share after fees is the core idea.

Coin packs & payment fees

Readers buy coins in packs. Payment processors (like PayPal) charge a fee on each purchase. After that fee, the remaining amount is split: 80% to authors, 20% to the platform.

PackPriceCoinsFees (est.)NetAuthor (80%)Platform (20%)Value / 100 coins
$5 Silver $ 5.00525 $ 0.52 $ 4.48 $ 3.58 $ 0.90 ~$ 0.85
$10 Gold $ 10.001,080 $ 0.74 $ 9.26 $ 7.41 $ 1.85 ~$ 0.86
$20 Platinum $ 20.002,200 $ 1.18 $ 18.82 $ 15.06 $ 3.76 ~$ 0.86
$50 Diamond $ 50.005,700 $ 2.50 $ 47.50 $ 38.00 $ 9.50 ~$ 0.83

The “Value / 100 coins” column shows roughly how much real money sits behind every 100 coins after payment fees. Your earnings come from those coins when readers unlock your chapters.

Example: one 50-coin chapter

Let’s say a premium chapter is priced at 50 coins . Using the $10 pack as a reference, here’s how it can look when readers unlock that chapter.

  • A reader buys the $10 coin pack and receives 1,080 coins.
  • After estimated fees, about $9.26 remains as “real value” behind those coins.
  • A 50-coin unlock for your chapter is worth roughly $0.34 to you as the author (after fees and the 80% split), using this pack as a reference.

If 1,000 readers unlock that chapter…

Author earnings (approx) $ 340

Platform share (approx)$ 85.74

These numbers are estimates to illustrate the system. Actual values may vary slightly depending on fees, exchange rates, and which coin packs readers buy, but the core principle stays the same: you receive 80% of the net revenue generated by coin unlocks for your chapters.
